The Information Management department is assisting with the roll out of the Efficient Coordination Management (ECM) solution. Each group has at least one Information Custodian (IC) who will lead their department with the Information Management department in this transfer.
The information management solution acronym ECM stands for Enterprise Content Management
If you ever notice something unsafe, you should talk to the person/people involved and fill out a STOP card online to maintain a safe work environment.
STOP is gone, you should submit an SOS.
The ECM Solution will replace SharePoint at SRP since it increases transparency of information.
The Information Management group has repeatedly said SharePoint will not be going away.
Brian has stopped depending on calendars to tell him what day of the week it is. He instead determines the day of the week based on what co-workers are wearing. For example, he knows it's Thursday when Daniel is wearing his black pants.
Actually, He knows it is Wednesday when Daniel wears his blue shirt
or
Andre and Zak wearing ties (Tie Tuesday)
I cannot say for sure he knows how to use a calendar, so that is not an acceptable answer.
According to an email Daniel randomly sent everyone last week, PETA has asked we try to use more animal related idioms, like "take the bull by the horns"
PETA prefers more animal friendly idioms, like "take the flower by the thorns".
The reliability of the distribution system is measured with several metrics, such as SAIDI (System Average Interruptions Duration Index). There are also transmission reliability metrics, such as FOAMY (Forced Outages Averaged by Miles of transmission per Year).
FOAMY should be FOHMY (Forced Outages per Hundred Miles of transmission per Year)
The role of fire marshal has been appointed to SRP employees. Responsibilities of the fire marshal include informing coworkers of the fire evacuation plan and accounting for everyone in the event of a fire evacuation. Pat and Kristi are the fire marshals for TPSD, so you should look for them at the meeting place in the South parking lot.
Angie has replaced Pat as a fire marshal a couple months ago.
TPSD has six official information management custodians. Daniel and Kristi represent TCM, Bryant and Eric represent TA, and Heather and Kathleen represent TPPM.
Eric (not Eric Tang, but the Energetic Representative Information Custodian) is only an honorary custodian.
Angie is the 6th custodian.
Brian is a fan of the St. Louis Cardinals. His team made it to the playoffs on plenty of occasions, but they didn't play in the Super Bowl until 2008.
St. Louis Cardinals never made it to the Super Bowl, since they are a baseball team.
According to an email Daniel randomly sent everyone last week, PETA has asked we try to use more animal related idioms, like "beat a dead horse."
PETA prefers more animal friendly idioms, like "feed a fed horse."
FERC, NERC, and WECC are organizations that make us all think of more regulatory work. It is also frustrating the the 'E' in the acronyms stand for a different word in each. For example, the 'E' in FERC stands for Electric, and in WECC it is Electricity.
The E in FERC is for Energy.
In October, Bryant and Eldin shared a variety of safety tips. One of those included an autumn seasonal tip about putting a sweater or jacket on you child before putting them in the car seat, even if it isn't too chilly. This prevents them from being exposed to cold weather later if you suddenly have car trouble later and you need to exit the vehicle.
You should remove the jacket/sweater as that prevents the restraints from properly holding the child in place in the event of a crash.
SRP is going to eliminate the personal Y drives after the ECM Solution has been fully implemented across the company. Therefore, everyone will have to clean out their Y drives during the migration to the ECM Solution.
Cleaning up the Y drives is not part of the process when migrating to ECM Solution.
Brian initially taught on the subject of reliability in a class of Power System University. As part of this course he would compare the old electric vehicles, along with the concerns of distance and lack of charging stations despite the high price, with an expensive gas-fueled car, such as a mustang.
Brian compared the cheap, unreliable Yugo model to the nice, expensive vehicle.
A recent photo Zack H. shared recently shows how important Justin is. He had nine people lined up outside his office yesterday (Jan. 21) according to the photo taken at 4:36pm. The first six people were laughing or smiling, but Bryce at the end of the line looked pretty disgruntled.
The clock (which some claim could be seen from space) clearly shows the time to be 4:31pm. (Surely Justin was back by 4:36, right?)
Some of the acronyms used within SRP include ANPP (Arizona Nuclear Power Project), ACC (Arizona Corporate Commission), NATF (North American Transmission Forum), and CPD (Capital Project Description).
ACC stands for Arizona Corporation Commission
The 5 keys of Smith Driving are: Aim high in steering, attack backing, keep your eyes moving, leave yourself an out, and make sure they see you.
Attack backing isn't one of the Smith Driving keys, what was missing was Get the big picture.
The purpose of the zBAKUP_E folder on the T drive is to store files of projects you are working on. When finishing a project, you are supposed to move files to an appropriate folder on the T drive, then delete the files from the zBAKUP_E folder.
You can delete files from the zBAKUP_E folder, but you need to remove the files from the E drive folders that you are backing up or they'll reappear in the zBAKUP_E folder.
One of Brian's responsibilities now is to represent SRP in WestConnect. WestConnect performs regional planning activities mandated by FERC Order 890, which FERC says "will remove barriers to the development of transmission, promoting cost-effective planning and the fair allocation of costs for new transmission facilities."
Swap FERC Order 890 with Order 1000.
SRP's new employee video, "The Link," connects you to the stories that matter the most - people, projects and programs that make SRP an industry leader.
This is talking about "The Line," not The Link
SRP has created a two or three letter abbreviation for each of its substations, some of which are words. For example, Tolby is TOY, Burton is BUN, Hunt is HUT, Alexander is AX, and Beeline is BE.
Hunt is actually just HU, no 'T'.
For those of you thinking "Ax" is a misspelled version of "Axe" and therefore the incorrect part of the statement, you can do a google search to find both "ax" and "axe" are accepted spellings of the word.
According to the email Danielle sent in December, thousands of children age 14 and younger suffered serious eye injuries from toys. You should look for letters "ISTM" to ensure the product meets international safety standards.
You're actually looking for the letters "ASTM", American Society for Testing and Materials. Their standards are used worldwide though.
The Information Management group used the boring sport of baseball to come up with an equally boring analogy of four necessary things necessary for good information management. Those four things represented as bases in the analogy are are Management, People, Processes, and Technology.
Management is not one of those things, what is missing is Information; you can't have good information management if you don't have information to manage.
Brian, like many of us, think Alistair is Australian when he is actually from New Zealand, which is known for some amazing things like being the home of the Inland Taipan (snake with deadliest toxin), home of the giant weta (the heaviest insect in the world), and the place where two dogs were taught to drive a car around a track.
The Inland Taipan is actually from Australia. New Zealand has no land snakes.
The Operational Excellence Showcase (formerly Best Practices Showcase) is accepting submissions now through April 1st for the showcase on May 9th.
They are actually only accepting submissions through March 1st. That was posted on the newsfeed January 17th
