What is the Main Power Switch

There are many different types of this. You should use the right one for the project.

Cotton thread, cotton polyester, rayon and polyester are all types of this.

This lever goes up and down when sewing and moves thread through the tension disk.
What is the take up lever?
This has an opening that thread goes through. It penetrates the fabric by going up and down and locks the bobbin thread with the upper thread.
What is the needle?
Change the needle based on this.
What is based on the type of fabric you are using?
This needle has a slightly rounded point but can be used on woven and knits.
What is a universal needle?
This has a special taper and is used on woven fabric.
What is a quilting needle?
It has a reinforced blade to help penetrate thick fabric's layers.
What is a jeans needle?
This needle has a light ball point with wide eye and grove.
What is an embroidery needle?
Ball for the tip so it can separate fibers instead of piercing them.
What is a ball point needle?
This holds the fabric down on top of the feed dogs.
What is the presser foot.
The presser foot needs to be in what position when threading the machine?
What is the up position?
This lowers the presser foot onto the fabric and lifts the presser foot off the fabric?
What is the presser foot lifter or lever?
Part of the sewing plate area that pulls the fabric based on the speed the machine is going.
What is the feed dog?
This is where thread gets put on the bobbin
What is the bobbin winder spindle
Puts tension on a stitch which interlocks with the upper thread.
What is the bobbin?
This allows you to manually lift or lower the needle.
What is the handwheel?
Hold down this button to sew backwards or when you want to reinforce your stitches.
What is the reverse button?
Controls the number of stitches in a one inch space: the default setting 2.5 which equals 12 stitches per inch.
What is the stitch length?
This is your gas pedal that controls the speed of the machine.
What is the foot control connector?
This moves the needle left or right, used to control width of zig zag stitch.
