A Cal grant is money the state of California government gives you money for cost of attendance and/or tuition ( students attending college out-of-state do not qualify)

A Pell grant is money from the national government to use to cover cost of attendance and/or tuition.

Yes, they are considered the top schools in the nation and are very selective on who they accept as freshmen. The best of the best get in, and they are given a quality education (but the work load is real LMAO)

Is tuition and cost of attendance the same thing?

No! Don't get confused. Cost of attendance is the price is cost to just go to the school. ( not including housing, books, food, transportation, etc.) Tuition is all these things. Together, they can make up a pretty big sum.
