Comparing two similar things and knowing the difference between the two. Like amoebic and bacillary dysentery are similar and both present with loose stools but amoebic has less blood in the blood. Knowing how to have a good differential diagnosis when with a patient is part of this. Also the comparison between the doshas, ex: a pitta cold shows thin, yellow mucus, a sore throat, and fever while a kapha cold presents with thick, white, copious mucus with bronchial congestion and chills.
