This sacrament is given to us by God.  We use this sacrament once in each person's life.    

What is baptism?

We say the Nicene Creed on communion Sundays. The Nicene Creed explains that Jesus is God's Son and true God.  Jesus earned forgiveness by doing this.  

What is dying on the cross?

When we prepare to go to communion we confess our sins to God.  We know that He forgives us and gives us strength and power to live as His child.  This person of God (the Trinity) gives us the power to live as God wants us to.  

What is the Holy Spirit?

In the commandments, God tells us that we should love and fear Him.  People often think of being afraid when they hear the word, "fear".  That is not what God means in the commandments.  When God tells us to fear Him He means to love and respect him and hold him in high esteem.  Name the term that describes God reminding us that He never sins.

Our confirmation is a public statement of faith.  It acknowledges that we have studied God's Word and believe what it says.  We have received the Sacrament of Baptism already.  Now the confirmed person participates in the second sacrament.  Name this sacrament.

In this sacrament, Jesus body and blood are present. We cannot see the actual body and blood but know they are there becuase of what Jesus tells us in His Word.

The 3rd Creed is called the Athanasian Creed.  We say this creed once a year.  It explains in great detail how God has three parts and yet is only one God. This is the Sunday of the church year when the Athanasian Creed is said.

The word trinity has "tri" in it which means 3.  The Trinity is God the Father, God the Son and God the Holy Spirit.  Not 3 gods but the 1 true God.  This term helps us understand this truth.

In the first three commandments we learn how to love God.  God tells us that He wants us to gather with other Christians each week and worship Him together.  This is the commandment that focuses on worship.

A Creed is a statement of what we believe.  We say a Creed each week in church.  The most common Creed used often has this title.  

What is the Apostle's Creed?

We sin everyday.  There are sins that we know we do and there are sins we don't realize we do.  When we tell God that we are sorry for all these sins, it is called this.

The Bible is written in two parts. One part begins with creation and tells us about all the events and teachings that happened before Jesus was born. The other part tells us about Jesus birth, His life, death and resurrection and the lives of the early Christians.  Name these two parts that the Bible is divided into.
