What is a teachable moment?
Part of the Individuals with Disabilities Education Act (IDEA). IDEA says that children who receive special education should learn in the this setting. This means they should spend as much time as possible with peers who do not receive special education.
What is Least Restrictive Environment?
The process of breaking a skill into smaller, more manageable steps in order to teach the skill. As the smaller steps are mastered, the learner becomes increasingly independent in his or her ability to perform the larger skill.
