In response to the grumbling of the Pharisees, Jesus heals the paralytic in order to provide evidence that he has the power to do this. (Mk 2:1-12; Mt 9:2-8; Lk 5:17-26)

In the prayer of absolution, the priest asks that God may grant the penitent these two fruits “through the ministry of the Church” immediately before he absolves the sins of the penitent.

What is in persona Christi?
