The PPT must not have been reported as lost, stolen or damaged.
The information on page 2 of the PPT must remain the same.
The PPT was valid for 5 or 10 years.
Can my friend, who is also my roommate, submit my application on my behalf?

The adult simplified renewal application form can only be used if the previous passport was an adult passport. In this case, the caller will need to apply using the adult general passport application form.

Il n'y a pas de changement à faire dans le passeport. Le requérant peut changer l'adresse lui-même en écrivant sa nouvelle adresse sur la page 4 de son passeport. Si une adresse y apparaît déjà, le requérant peut écrire la nouvelle adresse sur un "post-it" et le placer dans le passeport. Ne pas utiliser d'étiquette permanente.
Qu'est-ce que le répondant a besoin de signer?
On besoin de son "autographe" sur la demande de passeport, les photos et la photocopie de la pièce d'identité.

Too bad that she can't do that for him. While abroad, the caller has to submit their application through the Canadian Embassy or Consulate.

I'm travelling in 3 days and my passport is valid for 4 months. I won't have time to submit my application when I come back before I have to travel again. The requirement for that destination is 6 months validity from the date of departure from that country.
Once I've submitted my application to renew my passport, can I still use my current passport to travel in 3 days?
Unfortunately... HELL NO!
Passport must be cancelled before the office starts processing the new application.
