It has a journey by the main character, Half-chicken, who goes to Mexico city. It also explains how chickens (weather vanes) ended up on rooftops. Not quite about nature, but it is about chickens! What a scrambled fable/folktale!

There are so many correct answers! I saw the swallows talking about Half-chicken so that he could hear them. I thought they were trying to tease him.

I think the suthor missed something. He didn't tell us what lesson Half-chicken learned on his journey. What lesson could the author have stated at the end of the sotry? (Remember, the lesson always fixes the character's flaw.)
The author could have stated that the chicken realized that his kindness would bring him good things in life (friends, good advise, help, safety) and his vanity or pride would lead him down the wrong path.
