When a customer experiences an electrical issue less than week after install, what steps do we follow?

1. Arrange for Site Visit by sending the Agreement

Notify customer of $200 site visit fee and required signature on Site Visit agreement before we can dispatch Tesla Ops Electrician.

  • Should a legitimate fault be found, then Tesla will fix the issue as part of our warranty obligations and waive/refund the site visit fee.
  • Should no fault be found with Tesla electrical work the customer will be responsible for the site visit open invoice.

If a Cash,Loan or Mypowerloan customer does not want Tesla to complete the pest abatement, What other option do they have to remediate the work?

The customer has the option to move forward with a third party.

Who is the owner of the emergency electrical system maintenance case?

The operations manager.

If Operations identifies damages to the system at the site visit for Cash or Loan customers, they will inform the customer and will not move forward with the pest abatement until either......

  • Customer chooses to move forward with repairs to the system (another HIA will be required for system alterations); OR
  • Customer is adamant we move forward with adding the pest abatement immediately despite the system damages

Intake agents are responsible for communicating the additional charges to the customer as well as initiating the Home Improvement Agreement - Equipment Relocation/Alteration.

IF Tesla is NOT liable for the outage, THEN the Hotline will assign the case to Energy Customer Support who will call the customer. Energy Customer Support will then confirm customer is responsible for the $200 site visit fee and recommend that the home owner call an electrician for repairs (as applicable based on Operations findings).

If the inverter is displaying a "Missing Grid" error code, please follow the Inverter Troubleshooting process and escalate appropriately. This error is not included in the Electrical Outage Process
