there are three classes in society in Ancient Egypt. there is working/under class, there is middle class, and there is upper class, the upper class makes up a very little percent of the pyramid because it is only royalty and very wealthy people in it. the middle class is full of average people that do common jobs. the working/under class is full of servants and slaves that have very little money and work very hard to keep them and there families alive.

If they are in the slaves class they will be severely punished no matter what they did. if they are in the nobles or commoners class, they will be punished, but not as bad as slaves. if they are in the king/ upper class, they could possibly get out of punishment due to them being so high up on the social pyramid.
