Impressionism

Monophony and polyphony
A sacred polyphonic vocal composition, usually unaccompanied.
Motet
Monteverdi, Lully, and Wagner were all pioneers of this type of music.
Opera
This composer was known for his sense of humor, and it shows up in one of his pieces. Surprise!
Haydn
Music which does not have a key or tonal center.
Atonality
Italian monk responsible for the creation of solfege.

Consort
An ensemble of various instruments playing together, usually with a soloist competing with the orchestra.
Concerto
Was the forefront child prodigy of the classical period.
Mozart
Instrumental music that tells a story or evokes another medium such as a painting or poem.
symphonic poem
Writer, Philosopher, Visonary, Nun, and Composer are all examples of what this revolutionary person was to music during the Medieval.
Hildegard Von Bingen
