The story states that the home that Richard Davis used to live in had a box with a coin (museum), the news article, and the book showing a map to the mine that he worked for. The map led Derek directly to the coins. The notebook also had R. Davis (probably his name) on it. He worked for the mine and the museum. The cave was near his home.
