Your teacher has advised you to complete your work at your desk but you see Emma drop her eraser on the floor. She seems to be looking for it, but cannot find it. You leave your seat to pick it up but the teacher gets upset
Tell your teacher, "I'm sorry! I shouldn't have left my seat but I saw Emma's eraser that she lost and went to give it to her" in a calm voice
Kevin waved a paper at you in the school lunchroom and said something loudly with a big smile on his face but you did not understand him due to all the noise
Put your tray down, walk up to him and say, "hey, what did you say?" in a soft tone with a smile on your face?
Sally was absent from school so you could not give her the sweater you had brought home by mistake. Mom had asked you to return it to her. When you went back home, mom asked, "did you give Sally her sweater back?" You did not say anything
Tell mom, "No. I could not because Sally was absent today" in a calm voice
Tell your teacher, "It was hard for me to hear the principal through the microphone. I don't know exactly what to do."
Ford was coming to sit in his seat next to you but accidentally tripped over your food that was slightly in his way. He grabbed a desk and managed to not fall. But when he regained his balance, he turned around. He seemed upset and looked very annoyed with you
Tell Ford, "I'm so sorry. I didn't mean for you to trip. I'll be careful from now onwards!"
You went to a friend's house to play video games together but he does not have the game you wanted to play. You are not happy and want to leave. Your friend is showing you other games you can play. He is confused.
Say, "I really wanted to play the Cars' game. I can go back and get it from my house" in a soft tone with a smile on your face
You are ready to play on your iPad after finishing the worksheet in class but your teacher says, "Don't forget to do everything I asked before playing your game." You don't know what she means
You are talking with your friend Jared and Kelly. They are eagerly talking about they are excited for an upcoming party. Without warning, Jared abruptly leaves the table in the middle of Kelly's sentence. What could Jared have done differently?
He could have said, "excuse me, I have to do something else quickly, I'll be right back" in a polite tone.
You are really looking forward to the cheese pizza that would be delivered to your house any minute. But they bring you a pepperoni pizza by mistake. You say that you don't like this in a loud voice and the delivery boy is confused.
Say, "we ordered a cheese pizza, not pepperoni. Can you please fix our order?" respectfully in a soft tone.
Say, "hey, I am trying to save this seat for my friend. Hope you don't mind" with a smile on your face.
Say, "Wow it looks so impressive! 3 hours is a long time!" in an excited tone that matches her own.
In the morning, you mom asked you to clean your room. After she asked, you cleaned your room quickly. Later in the afternoon, she asks you, "did you clean up your room?" You reply in an angry voice, "YES"
Say, "I already cleaned it this morning mom" in a soft, respectful tone.
You ask your teacher if it is okay to get the blocks out since you had finished your classwork and cleaned your work area. She says something but you don't understand. You start getting the blocks out and she has an annoyed look on her face.
Walk up to her and say: "Did you say I could get the blocks? I couldn't hear you well"
Jared is talking about how his mom has a long list of chores for him to do. He says, "It's going to take me forever! It'll be a perfect end to the day" in a sarcastic tone. You reply, "that doesn't make any sense!"
Acknowledge the sarcasm and reply, "I'm sure it won't be too bad!"
