What is FERPA?
The Family Educational Rights and Privacy Act of 1974 is a United States federal law that governs the access to educational information and records by public entities such as potential employers, publicly funded educational institutions, and foreign governments.
Inquiry, induction, problem solving, decision making, and discovery are terms that are sometimes used interchangeably to describe this strategy. In contrast to the direct instruction strategy, this approach is mainly student-centered, although the two strategies can complement each other. Examples of this method include reflective discussion, concept formation, concept attainment, cloze procedure, problem solving, and guided inquiry.

State education chiefs and governors in 48 states came together to develop the Common Core, a set of clear college- and career-ready standards for kindergarten through 12th grade in English language arts/literacy and mathematics.
