What is the procedure of coming into the classroom?

Calmly walk into class, put your backpack up in your locker, get the items you need out of your backpack, and go to your seat. You then begin the morning work that is on your desk.

What is the rule while your teacher is talking and teaching?

We are actively listening and quiet until she asks us a question or to talk.

What is the expectation when you are working with groups?

You are working nicely and calmly with a table talk voice level.

What do I do if I need to get water?

You show the W sign with your fingers to your teacher, she will tell you yes or to wait.

What do you do when you hear your teacher calls for your attention?

You stop talking and put your eyes on her.

What is the procedure of turning in work?

The three bins on the top of the cubbies. Yellow is for math work, Pink is for reading and writing work, and blue is for science and social studies work.

Is there a rule about always doing your best?

Yes. We always try our best.

What is the expectation of you for classwork and homework?

You complete it on time. If it is not on time, points are marked off or you get a 0.

What do I do if I do not understand the assignment?

You ask your table or your neighbor. If they do not know, then you raise your hand to ask your teacher.

You raise your hand to let your teacher know, she will write you a pass to the nurse.

What is the procedure for dismissal?

We clean our desks, show our teacher we are ready to go. 

If we have younger siblings, we walk to their class.

We line up in the hall, sitting crisscross, quietly. We wait to hear our names called.

What is the rule about going to the bathroom during class?

You need to use the restroom sign. If the lesson is important, then your teacher will ask you to wait unless it is an emergency.

I come here to learn, work nicely with friends, and follow directions the first time by my teacher.

What do I do if I need to sharpen my pencil?

You raise your pencil in the air, your teacher will tell you yes or to wait. You do not ask to sharpen your pencil while your teacher is teaching an important part of the lesson.

What do I do when I want to read a book?

If you are done with all of your work, you may read a book from the library at your desk.

What is the procedure when your teacher is reading a story aloud?

We are listening and answering questions when she asks, and talking to our partners when it is allowed.

What is the rule in the hallway?

We are to walk on the second square, with bubbles in our mouths, and our hands either behind or in front of us. We do not run our hands along the wall or lean on the wall.

I am quiet and waiting patiently for my name to be called.

You may finish old work, start on homework, read a book, or help teach someone who needs extra understanding.

I take three deep breaths, tell myself that I am okay, and keep trying.

What is the procedure for when we are in reading/math lab and blended learning time?

We are working nicely with our groups, not interrupting our teacher when she has students at the small group table. We are working calmly and with purpose in the centers we are in.

What are the rules of the Library?

We are nice and kind to the books. We put them back carefully and turn their pages carefully. The bins are heavy, so we are careful when we pull them out. We are quiet in the library corner.

You always try your best and never give up.

You erase it, fix it, or try again.

What to do when you are arguing with someone in the class.

You make sure you are speaking with a calm voice, listening to the other person, and working to solve the problem.
