She helps with basic computer literacy, such as: setting up emails, accessing job search sites, and navigating online housing resources. She also gets them signed up for Microsoft Word and Excel certification courses. Bonus points for when she helps residents find their missing stimulus payment!
Who is Jenn?
She schedules pre-testing and testing. She helps with studying. She keeps people motivated and shows them how to find tutorials on Khanacademy.com about polynomials. She signs residents up for Hiset classes with the Urban League if possible. She organizes graduation parties and announces it over the intercom every time someone earns their GED.
Who is Jenn "overly invested in academic progress" Savage?
Created and coordinates the peer mentor program. Keeps track of all Level 3 and 4 resident schedules in order to assign residents to teach 21 classes weekly.

She does drug screens, body searches, and room searches for in-house and community living residents.

Provides instruction on the writing of resumes and cover letters. Proofreads both documents and provides feedback on how to improve.
Who is Jenn "the Savage" Savage?
Helps the residents take career and personality assessments. Helps residents sign up for FAFSA, apply to college, register for classes, schedule Zoom orientations with college advisors, figure out their NC residency and track down elusive high school transcripts.
Who is Queen Savage?
Coordinates transportation for all Levels 3, 4, and some in-house transition residents for things such as: Dress for Success, job interviews, DSS, GED, cell phones, bank, and any other non-medical appointments.
Who is Andrea the Great?
Developed and supports the peer mentor buddy system program and orientates new peer mentors each week.
Who is the best curly blonde Andrea working at Dove's Nest?
This person teaches a weekly Resource Class with such scintillating topics as "time management" and "housing/program options after Dove's Nest"
Who is that girl who sits in the Resource Room and has humidity frizzy hair?
She provides goal and career coaching in the form of 4 group sessions per week. These courses have residents figure out long term goals and break them down into smaller chunks and talks about triggers, cues, and growth mindsets.
Who else could it be but Jenn?
Finds, schedules, and transports residents four days a week to outside AA and NA meetings. Supports residents with her Certified Peer Support Certification awesomeness.
Who is Andrea, "emotional support person" Aldridge?
Assists with discharges and pack outs. Provides general clerical duties which include but are not limited to filing, copying, posting, messages, inventory of supplies, etc. as assigned
Who will be kind but hold you to your highest potential--Andrea?
Sets up weekly Social Security time (every Thursday at 10:00 in the staff dining room!) with peer mentors to assist all Level 1 and 2 residents to obtain their social security card

Coordinates with the Case Manager to screen and connect residents with community resources such as Goodwill, Urban League, CPCC, etc.

Is the coordinator for Center for Community Transitions, Common Wealth financial program, CATS bus class, and the interview class.
Who is A-Jazz?
Prays with the residents and encourages them with bible verses and studying techniques.
Who is An to the Drea?
She makes sure residents are not using social media, texting old boyfriends-who-used-to-be-drug-dealers on sneaky texting sites, or printing out 200 page russian novels
Who is the bomb.com, also known as, Jenn S.?
She created a mini library and even bought old school library check out cards to put in the back of every book. Is always looking for new books to add for the residents to check out.
Who is Jenn, "shoulda been a librarian in the 60's" Savage?
Transports and accompanies residents on Camp Thunderbird outings monthly.
Who is Andrea "sorta afraid of the zipline" Aldridge?
She works closely with the Transformation Counselors as well as the Case Manager to fill in any needs that arise with residents. She is SUPER organized and very dedicated to her calling to work with the residents who want to live their recovery.
