The silk roads were lined with thieves and pirates, but under the Mongol empire it flourished because the Mongols protected the trade routes keeping everyone safe. The silk road was a large trail and to keep the merchants safe the leaders would send soldiers to guard the merchants of their country.

Absolutism is when one man holds all of the power in a kingdom mainly the king or queen. In France we see this in Louis XIV because he had that power whatever he spoke became law if he wanted to raise taxes he only had to say so and it was done. King Louis also moved all of the nobles to his palace at Versailles so he could keep an eye on them also to keep them away from Paris. He also used his power to create intendates who were like justices of the peace and could maintain areas where the king could not go.
How do "Cash Crops" such as Sugarcane and Tobacco contribute to the "Trans Atlantic Slave Trade " ?
These crops are labor intensive and need lots of hard work. To meet the demand in Europe for these goods they needed to bring in help so they brought in slaves from West Africa. The more the demand goes up for these crops the more slaves will be needed to work the fields. Many of these slaves did not survive the trip and the ones that did worked on the farm for long hours with very little breaks.

The principles of John Locke life, liberty, and the pursuit of property are important because Locke believed if the government is following these right then the government needs to be overthrown. The colonist realized that there unalienable rights were being taken by the British. Following Locke's principles they revolted against the government. They wrote the Declaration of Independence based on what Locke said and they usd his message to inspire all of the colonist to revolt against the mother country Great Britain.
