What are the steps of the scientific method of psychology? Describe each.
First is observing Phenomenon, which is where you observe the phenomena and these phenomena are called variables. Second step, Formulating hypotheses and predictions, this is where you come up with an idea that is logical from a theory, it is a prediction that can be tested. Third step, is testing through empirical research, which is where you collect and analyze data that you collected. the 4th step is drawing a conclusion. after you have analyzed the data, scientists draw conclusions from the research collected. The 5th and final step is evaluating conclusions. In this stage your work undergoes rigorous review.

acute stress is stress that does not last a long time. It can cause some issues but can usually be resolved in a short period of time if the person affected is able to get the things they need to get done, done. Chronic stress is long term stress that causes people to become unhealthy. This type of stress can cause over exhaustion, mood swings and loss in weight.

Things such as smells, places, articles of clothing, toys, and tv commercials can bring upon nostalgia. Basically any sort of thing that you remember from your childhood or positive event that happened in your life. these items can bring upon emotion that can be negative but usually positive emotions. Finally the people who usually experience nostalgia are those of older age who long to experience past times.

There are 4. First is Displacement which is described as shifting unacceptable feeling or impulses from the target of those feeling to someone less threatening or to an object. Second is Intellectualization which is resorting to excessive abstract thinking rather than focus on the upsetting aspects of response to issues that cause conflict or stress. Third is Reaction Formation which is transforming an unacceptable feeling or desire into its opposite in order to make it more acceptable. Finally, Repression which is unconsciously excluding disturbing wishes, thought, or experiences from awareness.
