We must always do this first before determining whether or not a patient's symptoms are severe.
When you need to send a non-priority message to the clinic, this is what you'll create.
What is a telephone encounter?
This is the phone number for the Eye Care Callback Line.

A patient called to make an appointment for her first prenatal appointment. You do this for the patient.
What is create an encounter and route it to ObGyn?
Dietary Counseling classes can only be scheduled at one of these two locations.
What is Lakewood and Westminster?
We ALWAYS create a telephone encounter for calls that we warm transfer to this Medical Priority line.
What is the NAL? or Nurse Advice Line
We create telephone encounters for these types of calls but we DO NOT route them.
What are medical priorities to the NAL?
These two symptoms are the ONLY medical priorities for eye care.
What is severe eye pain and sudden vision loss?
A patient calls for her return prenatal appointment for her 36 week appointment. You schedule her appointment with this type of provider.
What is an MD?
One-on-one Dietary Counseling appointments can be scheduled in a PEDS slot for an adult member only if this applies.
What is gestational diabetes/nutritional concerns during pregnancy?
We DO NOT create telephone encounters when warm transferring a caller to this line for immediate medical advice.
What is TMC?
You would route your telephone encounter for a prescription refill request to this pool number, as long as the request is not for an antibiotic.
What is P 21778?
This department assists with broken glasses.
What is the Optical Dispensing Line?
These types of appointments for women can be scheduled in ObGyn (reproductive health only) or Primary Care (head-to-toe exam).
What are physicals/Well Woman exams?
Instead of scheduling a patient for a Healthy Connections class, you do this and send it to this location.
What is create an encounter and route it to P Adult Health and Wellness or P 10036?
A pregnant woman calls in with slight abdominal cramping. This department will assist her with her symptoms.
What is ObGyn DTM?
If a patient requests that the information in their telephone encounter remain confidential and not be shared with someone on that patient's HIPPA, then we would click this button and select the appropriate option.
What is the Share with Patient button within the My Note section of your telephone encounter?
Diabetic Retinal Photos are treated as walk-in appointments at most locations except for these two places.
Repeat pap smears must be scheduled at least this much time after the initial pap smear.
What is at least 2 months?
If a member is looking for information on weight loss medications when inquiring about a dietician, you will do this.
What is Oncology (CB Line)? (due to medical priority)
This is the only test request that we would send a high priority telephone encounter to the clinic for.

A patient has swelling on her eyelid and is seeking help. You do this to properly assist the member.

A patient calls you to schedule a pre-pregnancy consultation because she has been trying to conceive for about 7 months. You need this additional information in order to schedule the appointment properly.

This is the preferred, or priority, method for an appointment with a dietician.
