THIS IS REGARDLESS OF WHERE THE PREVIOUS TEACHER SAID YOU COULD SIT!

100

True or False: During instruction time is a great time for me to ask people around me for a pencil.

False.

You should know whether or not you have a writing utensil at the beginning of the day. You should ask the teacher for a pencil *at that time*.

200

True or False: I can talk at whatever volume I want as long as I am completing my work.

False!

You should follow voice level expectations at all times. If the expectation is 0, it is because people need to focus.

200

True or false: I can wear my backpack while sitting at my desk.

False.

There is no reason to wear your backpack on your body during class time. You should hang your backpack on the hook on your desk.

200

False: You should not be touching, hugging, smacking, chasing, etc ANYONE - especially those who are not in your class.

Listening.

Taking notes if necessary.

Raising your hand to ask questions for clarity.

300

How do I show Mrs. Gober that I am done so she can collect my work and I can get further instruction?

Raise your hand! It is never ok to shout out, "Miss! I'm finished!"
300

True or False: I can go and grab my computer when I come in class, sit down, and start playing games.

False. You should not be handling the computers unless I have given you instruction to get them.

False.

300

300

Raise your hand and wait to be called on.

400

When is it ok to play games on the computer?

Only when Mrs. Gober says it's ok and only AFTER you have finished your work. If she did not make a comment and you did not ask, assume that you cannot play games after you are done with your work.

500

At the beginning of the day, what time is considered late to school?

You are late if you are not in the front door at 8:15.

If you arrive in the classroom after 8:15, you should have a pass from the office.

500

When is it ok to verbally ask to go to the bathroom.

Never.

You have hand signals to show me when you need to go. Verbally asking to use the restroom interrupts the flow of class and is unnecessary.

500

What is the expectation of the quality of work completed in Mrs. Gober's class?

Your work should be completed to the best of your ability. You should not turn in work that is copied, scribbled on, torn, or done to the absolute minimum of standard. Any less than your best is disrespecting you and also me.

500

I missed class yesterday. How and when should I ask for my missing work?

You should ask for missing work either before class starts or after instruction is over. You should never interrupt instruction to tell Mrs. Gober you weren't here yesterday or that you need the work from yesterday. Also it is YOUR RESPONSIBILITY to get, complete, and return your work.
