Candidates must provide their own calculator. The ESO must verify the calculator is capable of displaying only numeric and mathematical characters. Programmable calculators or any calculator capable of storage or retrieval of information is not allowed.
What are the maximum PNA points a candidate can have? How many cycles count for PNA points?
Maximum PNA points = 15 for the most recent 5 of the last 6 consecutive advancement cycles in the same paygrade.
What are the requirements to be an ESO?
Must be designated in writing by the CO, be an officer, E7-E9, or designated civilian holding the minimum security clearance required to handle classified NWAEs for the ratings assigned to their commands.
If an eval has not been completed in the appropriate advancement cycle, what must be done?

Forward NWAE answer sheets by fastest traceable means no later than seven days after administration of each paygrade NWAE.
An HM2 received an EP on their most recent periodic evaluation. However, they transferred 4 months later and received a transfer EP. Are they entitled to an EP TIR waiver to take the exam a year early?
An EP recommendation received on a special or detaching eval does not negate the ability to receive an EP TIR waiver as long as the most recent observed periodic evaluation reflects a promotion recommendation of EP. However, a special or detaching eval cannot be used to establish eligibility for an EP TIR waiver.
E6 personnel must pass the E7 exam prior to submitting a package for LDO selection board.

What items are destroyed after the exam? What are the authorized destruction methods?
After NWAE administration, destroy all NWAE booklets, both used and unused, and scratch paper by burning or shedding.
If there is an eligible candidate without a NWAE and another candidate is taking the same exam, can the exam be split? If so, how many members can split the exam? Describe the process.
An exam can only be split between a max of 2 personnel. The exam is split into 2 equal parts, staple to prevent loss of pages, give each candidate one half and administer the exam to each candidate simultaneously. When both candidates finish their respective halves the proctor shall examine and remove any marks and exchange halves. However, the candidates will have no more than 90 minutes to complete their half before the proctor must exchange halves. If time permits, the unfinished half can be returned to the first user within the 3 hour testing window.
