Hades lets Orpheus take Eurydice back to earth if he follows the rules. He must play the lyre and Eurydice must follow the sound. He cannot turn around until after they have left the underworld and let the gates close behind them. Orpheus is not successful. He turns around too soon because he thinks Hades is tricking him.

She runs from the forest to live alone in a cave. In the cave she turns into a stone and can only use her voice.
