Who participates as hosts during the Jaguar Jumpstart session?
Aside from part of our Outreach Team, a counselor attends our presentations in order to provide support and develop knowledge of career pathway, fields of study, and choose a major.
We mention the Southwestern College Application is a two-step process. Please explain each process and what they are for.
Step 1 - Open CCC Account. Every student opens a profile from which they can apply to any community college in California through the same profile.
Step 2- Specifically applying to Southwestern College and completing the application this is for new and returning students.
Where can students complete their new student online orientation?
This process is completed through their Web Advisor account.
Who Receives Priority Registration?
High school seniors who go through our Early Admissions process will receive priority registration.

What is the Online New Student Orientation?
Orientation is an important step for new students in order to learn about resources and services online. It will also have them submit an abbreviated Student Education Plan. (FSP)
What is priority registration and how can students see if they have received this benefit from the college?
Priority registration allows incoming freshmen to register early and get the best choices for classes. Students are able to log into sso.swccd.edu to view the course schedule on Webadvisor. They can also visit the Admissions Lobby to receive this information.

Graduating High School Seniors who are now transitioning to college.
When creating their profile for their open CCC why do we recommend students to not input their student email from high school?
This is because many time this email gets deactivated, we recommend students use an email where they can always rely on if ever needed when recovering their account information.
If 24-48 business hours passed after completing the Southwestern College Application, what may be some reasons they have not yet received their credentials?
- They have yet to complete their Southwestern College application and only their Open CCC account was created.
- The application was never submitted.
- The system did not process their application.

Where can a student make payments to Southwestern College?
A student may go through their MySWC account or directly with the Cashiers department on campus.

False, It is the first step and this presentation helps students be prepared with their Open CCC profile for when they reach step 2 the Southwestern College Application
True or False. Placement services are taken and received on campus in the evaluations/assessment department?
False, placement services are based on your high school coursework inputted on your SWC Application. (English and Math)
True or False. The "Getting started with My SWC" workshop walks students through the resources and services online in addition to the creation of an abbreviated Student Education Plan.
False, that is for the new student online orientation. Getting started with the MySWC workshop helps students make a smooth transition at Southwestern College by learning about how to navigate their MySWC account, search for classes, and Canvas.
How can a student check if they owe money to the college?
Students are able to check in their MySWC account. When logging in they direct themselves to, Webadvisor on MySWC, Web advisor for students, Financial Information, and lastly view account and make payments.
They can also visit the Cashiers Lobby.
When is a High School Graduation Verification needed?
If the student is a graduating high school senior and is under 18 years of age at the start of the summer session or fall semester, students will need to email a copy of their high school diploma to Admissions.
How can they register to the Jumpstart Event?
They can RVSP through the Early Admissions Interest Form.
If a student who went to a High School out of California wants to do their placement test, how would they proceed?
They can enter the Assessment Lobby so they can email them the link to the Guided Self Placement test (Virtual).
True or False. Will the New Student Online Orientation have any quizzes to complement the information?
True. After each section, there is a small quiz that students must complete.
Is the Early Admissions Program the only way a student can receive Priority Registration?
No, they can receive this benefit if they are in a program like EOPS, FYE, or DSS.
Which Outreach Technician is in charge of the Early Admissions Program?
Nayeli
