Hawaii's many islands attracts visitors every year. Many stay in the big hotels next to Honolulu's beaches.

Denver is one mile above sea level. In the early days, gold was discovered in those mountains. People rushed to that area and the community grew. 

Ames is in the middle of Iowa on the plains- a large, flat area of land. It is rich in soil and good for farming. A farming and veterinary school, and other farming services opened there.

New Orleans developed near water, which is a part of its geography as well as a natural resource. Settlers were able to get the water they needed for drinking, cooking, and growing crops because of its location. Its location also allowed the city an easy way to transport people and goods around the world. Many jobs were created as the city became an important shipping and trading center
