At point A, the population can grow rapidly because the carrying capacity has not yet been reached, meaning there are enough resources to support every individual in the population at that point. At point B, however, the population has reached the enviornments carrying capacity and therefore cannot continie to grow with limited resources.

Carbon dioxide (CO2) and light are used by plants during the process of photosynthesis. Since the graph shows that the uptake of CO2 increases with increasing light intensity, this means that the rate of photosynthesis also increases. The text states that during La Nina there is less light reaching plants and so this means less light intensity, which means less update of CO2 and a decrease in the rate of photosynthesis.

The mutated DNA sequence has 1 more nucleotide (the letters) than the original DNA sequence (there is an extra T). Additionally, some of the nucleotides in the mutated DNA sequence are different than the nucleotides in the original DNA sequence. For example, the 3rd amino acid sequence (sequence of 3 nucleotides in a row) in the original DNA sequence reads GTT, whereas the 3rd amino acid sequence in the mutated DNA sequence reads GAT. This means there will be a difference in the protein produced by the mutated DNA sequence.
