What are “quarter sheets”?

Sheets that are ¼ of a piece of paper that you can use to send out with material to clients in the mail. It has our office contact info and a place for the staff person’s name. Located in the mail room.

What is the difference between probationary and provisional?

Provisional means you have not yet passed the civil service exam for your position. You will be provisional until you take and pass the exam (scoring in the top 3). You can be a provisional employee for weeks or months or years depending on when your test comes up. Then you become probationary. Probationary means that you have taken and passed the test but either just hired or just passed your test. You can be on probation up to a year.

How much are personal copies/print jobs?

$.05 per page – there is a form on the wall by the copy machine to write in when you have made a personal copy or printed out information for personal use. The money can be given at the end of a month to the director or fiscal team members.

What is the general rule about client photos/videos?

Do not take or share without permission. Do not take on a personal device or from/to anyone’s personal devices.

What is the best way to send something to another county department or town office?

Interoffice mail (please do not use postage to send something to DSS or HR or Veterans, etc.) Will also accept “hand-deliver”

What is the purpose of the union?

The Union negotiates the contracts and holds the county to the contract. If you have unresolved concerns that the department/county is not following the contract, the union can assist.

The table in the breakroom is generally considered the “free table” If something is left on the table it is free for the taking. If you have something from home or your office that you no longer want, you can leave it on the free table for your coworkers to take.
