What is the Service Log?

As an ETS, you are a teacher, trainer and mentor for the people you support. When in the community, what are the things you do day to day to help the person learn?

1) Teach vocational skills: How to do the task (systematic method)

2) Develop teaching strategies: Look for ways to support them in learning (model, adaptations, accommodations, visual aids, etc...)

3) Teach life, communication and coping skills: The person needs to learn cultural norms, what to do when upset, how to communicate needs rather than having a behavior.

500

Why is it important not to provide reward or incentive outside of an agreed upon plan?

It sets up expectations on the participant’s part that each staff will do this and is a boundary issue.

It is the agency's policy to not use our own money to buy for the participant (limited special occasion gift is different)
