If the individual is seated, don’t stand over them. Maintain a neutral body position.
Avoid direct, continuous eye contact or touching of the individual
Comply with the individuals requests as long as they are not endangering or beyond reason
Don’t block the doorway however leave a path for your exit
Contact a manager or supervisor. If needed, contact 911
If a weapon is involved, attempt to move all bystanders to a safe location
