The areas on the Right and Left of the Stage, where Actors enter and exit from.
What are the Wings?
After an actor crossses another actor usually does this.
What is counter?
The time the actor or crew person should be at the theatre to start getting ready for the performance.
What is Call?
The act of writing all the blocking down in a script.
What is Marking a Script?
An actor who is ready to take over a role if the original performer cannot do the show.
What is an Understudy?
The area of the stage in front of the curtain line.
What is the Apron?
All of the actor's movements on stage, given by the Director.
What is Blocking?
Turning to face the audience, even when talking to someone next to you on stage. So the audience can see your face.
What is Cheat Out or Cheating Out?
Reading from a script that you have never seen before.
What is a Cold Reading?
The area behind the stage, where costumes, props and scenery for the show are stored.
What is Backstage?
The area on the stage farthest away from the audience.
What is Up Stage?
Moving a Prop or Set Piece on of off the stage.
What is to move on or Move off?
A neutral stance on stage, used to give the focus to someone else.
What is Actor's Neutral?
A scene that is meant to be spontaneous, not scripted.
What is an Improv?
The performers on stage.

The line that divides the apron from the rest of the stage.
What is the Proscenium Line?
Letting another actor have the focus on stage or taking the focus for yourself.
