No, emotions are not bad, but behaviors can be. Anger tells us that we do not like the situation we are in.
Reframe the thought: The teacher hates me
Look for evidence: Teacher gives me praise when I follow directions. Teacher reprimands me when I am off task or not following directions.
Reframed thought: The teacher is helping me to be a respectful student
What should we consider when evaluating possible solutions to our problem?
What would happen? Is it safe? How would everyone feel? Is the plan realistic?
