A stage that extends into the seating area. The audience sits on three sides of the stage.
What is a Thrust Stage?
Making up a scene on the spot, with no practice.
What is Improvisation?
Drama characterized by "once upon a time" and "happily ever after."
What is a Fairytale?
A person who writes plays.
What is a Playwright?
The draperies covering the proscenium opening, seperating the audience from the stage.
What is Grand Curtain?
The bottom area of theatre seats.
What are orchestra seats?
Still bodies creating a picture.
What is Tableaux/Still Image?
End of a scene is signaled by this.
What is Curtain Closing or a Blackout?
Objects or articles used in a play, to add to the characters portrayals.
What are Props?
Offstage spaces to the sides of the acting area.
What are the Wings?
The section of the theatre where the audience sits; also called "out front"
