Why were the disciples sad and afraid?
Sad because Jesus was dead; Afraid of arrest/punishment/death.
What did Mary Magdalene come to tell them?
The body of the Lord Jesus was not in the tomb.
What did Jesus promise to send?
The Holy Spirit.
Give one day He will help.
One from: help to live to please God; know you are doing wrong; understand God's Word; know you belong to Jesus; become more like Jesus.
Other women came. What did the disciples think of what they said?
Thought it was nonsense; didn't believe them.
Why is it important to believe that the Lord Jesus rose from the dead?
If He had not risen He could not forgive us.
Who is the Holy Spirit?
God.
Why were the believers no longer afraid to speak about Jesus?
The Holy Spirit living in them helped them to be brave.
What would you say to someone who decided to stop sinning and be good so that they could get in to Heaven?
Can't do it by yourself; need forgiveness of sin and help to change.
When Mary Magdalene came back to the tomb and looked in, who did she see inside?
Two angels
What signs showed that the Holy Spirit had come to live in the 120 believers in the house in Jerusalem?
Sound of wind; tongues of fire.
Most of the people in the crowd were not believers. What was the Holy Spirit speaking to them about.
Their sin.
What made Mary Magdalene realise Jesus was speaking to her?
He spoke her name.
What differences can it make to a Christian knowing Jesus is always with him/her?
Courage when afraid; help when tempted.
The Holy Spirit made the believers able to speak other language.
What did Peter tell them they must do?
Repent.
When did the disciples finally believe that Jesus had risen?
When He appeared to them in the room.
What happened 40 days after Jesus rose from the dead?
He went back to Heaven.
Who does the Holy Spirit live in today?
All those who have trusted the Lord Jesus for forgiveness.
What promise from God did he tell them about?
If they repented and believed in Jesus they would receive the Holy Spirit.
