The Mission of Jesus:

What bold statement did Jesus make in the synagogue? (ref LUKE 4)

He then rolled up the scroll, gave it back to the attendant, and sat down. And the eyes of everyone in the synagogue were fixed on him. He began by saying to them, “Today as you listen, this Scripture has been fulfilled.” LUKE 4:20-21

The Ministry of Jesus:

Through his miracles and teachings, what did Jesus point us to?

God.

100

Built on Christ:

What does Jesus ask us to get rid of in order to grow in our salvation?

Therefore, rid yourselves of all malice, all deceit, hypocrisy, envy, and all slander. Like newborn infants, desire the pure milk of the word, so that by it you may grow up into your salvation, if you have tasted that the Lord is good. As you come to him, a living stone—rejected by people but chosen and honored by God—you yourselves, as living stones, a spiritual house, are being built to be a holy priesthood to offer spiritual sacrifices acceptable to God through Jesus Christ. 1 PETER 2:1-5

100

Giving:

What is one main way we give at church?

With tithes and offerings.

200

The Ministry:

How did Jesus show love to the people around Him (specially enemies and those who mistreat us)?

“But I say to you who listen: Love your enemies, do what is good to those who hate you, bless those who curse you, pray for those who mistreat you. If anyone hits you on the cheek, offer the other also. And if anyone takes away your coat, don’t hold back your shirt either. Give to everyone who asks you, and from someone who takes your things, don’t ask for them back. Just as you want others to do for you, do the same for them.” LUKE 6:27-31

The Resurection of Jesus 1:

What did Jesus eat after the ressurection?

According to the New Testament, Jesus cooked fish and bread over coals for himself and his disciples after his resurrection in John 21:9. Luke 24:41-43 also mentions Jesus eating fish after his resurrection.

200

Sharing Chirst:

What command did Jesus give all of us after he resurrected?

Jesus came near and said to them, “All authority has been given to me in heaven and on earth. Go, therefore, and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, teaching them to observe everything I have commanded you. And remember, I am with you always, to the end of the age.” MATTHEW 28:18-20

The Great Comission: Go into the nation and make disciples.

200

Doing Life Together:

What is one thing we can do that doesn't take much physical effort but is simple as saying "You are loved"

Encourage one another.

For God did not appoint us to wrath, but to obtain salvation through our Lord Jesus Christ, who died for us, so that whether we are awake or asleep, we may live together with him. Therefore encourage one another and build each other up as you are already doing. 1 THESSALONIANS 5:9-11

300

The Identity In Chirst:

What does it mean to take up our cross and follow Jesus?

Then he said to them all, “If anyone wants to follow after me, let him deny himself, take up his cross daily, and follow me. For whoever wants to save his life will lose it, but whoever loses his life because of me will save it. For what does it benefit someone if he gains the whole world, and yet loses or forfeits himself? For whoever is ashamed of me and my words, the Son of Man will be ashamed of him when he comes in his glory and that of the Father and the holy angels.” LUKE 9:23-26

It means to deny ourselves for the sake of our salvation.

The Death of Jesus 1

Growing in Chirst:

What did Paul pray over the church of Colossians?

(For there spiritual growth)

He prayed:

Say - at least two!

- Continuing to grow in knowledge

- Bearing fruit of good works

-Living to please Him

-Walk Worthy of the Lord

For this reason also, since the day we heard this, we haven’t stopped praying for you. We are asking that you may be filled with the knowledge of his will in all wisdom and spiritual understanding, so that you may walk worthy of the Lord, fully pleasing to him: bearing fruit in every good work and growing in the knowledge of God, being strengthened with all power, according to his glorious might, so that you may have great endurance and patience, joyfully giving thanks to the Father, who has enabled you to share in the saints’ inheritance in the light. He has rescued us from the domain of darkness and transferred us into the kingdom of the Son he loves. In him we have redemption, the forgiveness of sins. COLOSSIANS 1:9-14

300

Giving:

Which analogy did Paul use to teach us about giving?

Sowers & Repears

The point is this: The person who sows sparingly will also reap sparingly, and the person who sows generously will also reap generously. Each person should do as he has decided in his heart—not reluctantly or out of compulsion, since God loves a cheerful giver. And God is able to make every grace overflow to you, so that in every way, always having everything you need, you may excel in every good work. As it is written: He distributed freely; he gave to the poor; his righteousness endures forever. 2 CORINTHIANS 9:6-9

The Death of Jesus

Why did Jesus refuse to save Himself?

Jesus chose to NOT save himself to fufil God's plan to save humanity.

The people stood watching, and even the leaders were scoffing: “He saved others; let him save himself if this is God’s Messiah, the Chosen One!” The soldiers also mocked him. They came offering him sour wine and said, “If you are the king of the Jews, save yourself!” An inscription was above him: This Is the King of the Jews. Then one of the criminals hanging there began to yell insults at him: “Aren’t you the Messiah? Save yourself and us!” But the other answered, rebuking him: “Don’t you even fear God, since you are undergoing the same punishment? We are punished justly, because we’re getting back what we deserve for the things we did, but this man has done nothing wrong.” Then he said, “Jesus, remember me when you come into your kingdom.” And he said to him, “Truly I tell you, today you will be with me in paradise.” LUKE 23:35-43

But Jesus said, “Why are you so frightened? Why do you doubt? Look at my hands and my feet and see who I am! Touch me and find out for yourselves. Ghosts don't have flesh and bones as you see I have.” After Jesus said this, he showed them his hands and his feet
