Coordinate Plane
The coordinate plane has four of these, divided by the X and Y axes, in both polarities.
What is a quadrant?
When given a negative slope this is the only part of the slope that is affected.
What is the rise?
The slope intercept of the linear equation y=-3.
What is (0,-3)?
This travels up and down with both positive and negative integers.
What is the y-axis?
This travels from left to right, using both positive and negative integers.
What is the X-axis?
If given an ordered pair of (4,-4), one would find themselves in this quadrant.
What is the fourth quadrant?
This greek letter is used to denote the "change in" rise or run, and looks like a triangle.
What is delta?
The y-intercept of a linear equation with a slope of m=1/2 and passes through point (-2,1).
What is (0,2)?
In the equation y=mx+b, or in the equation ax+by+c, it's what the "b" stands for.
What is the Y-Intercept?
In the equation y=mx+b, or in the equation ax+by+c, it's what the "a" stands for.
What is the X-Intercept?
A positive slope that crosses the Y-Axis at (0,0) passes through these sections.
What is quadrant 1 and 3?
In the equation Y-Y1=m(X-X1), if representing a linear equation, m is a variable that represents this.
What is slope?
A positive slope with the same rise over run and passes through origin.
What is y=x?
In the equations y=mx+b, or in Y-Y1=m(X-X1), or in ax+by=c it's what "y" stands for.
