In several places in the Book of Mormon, we learn that the "Gospel of Christ" can be broken down into these 5 principles.

In Ether 12:27 the Lord teaches Moroni that "if men come unto me I will show unto them their weakness. I give unto men weakness that they may be humble; and my grace is sufficient for all men that humble themselves before me; for if they humble themselves before me, and have faith in me, then will I make weak things become strong unto them."
This was in response to this concern of Moroni's

In Helaman 5:12, Helaman teaches "And now, my sons, remember, remember that it is upon the rock of our Redeemer, who is Christ, the Son of God, that ye must build your foundation..."
He was speaking to these two sons.

Before Moroni teaches us in Moroni 10:4-5 that we can know the truth of all things through the Holy Ghost, he invites us in verse 3 to remember this.
"...remember how merciful the Lord hath been unto the children of men, from the creation of Adam even down until the time that ye shall receive these things, and ponder it in your hearts."
Samuel the Lamanite prophesied of many signs given to the Nephites concerning the birth and death of Jesus Christ, including these two of his birth and two of his death.
Birth: no darkness at night, new star, many signs and wonders in heaven
Death: darkness for three days, thundering/lightnings, earthquakes, graves open up and yield up many of their dead

In 3 Nephi 27, Jesus invites us to "...Repent, all ye ends of the earth, and come unto me and be baptized in my name, that ye may be sanctified by the reception of the Holy Ghost, that ye may stand spotless before me at the last day."
This was part of Jesus teaching the fundamentals of His gospel in response to this question from His disciples.

In Helaman 7, we read about Nephi praying on his garden tower, which gained the attention of many people around him. To show them that he was a prophet, he miraculously told them of these events that had taken place while he was preaching to them.
