The Letters TTF in TTF Watershed Partnership each represent different parts of the creek. These are the Three names?
What is Tookany, Tacony, and Frankford?
This term is used to describe a non-native plant or animal species that can have harmful impacts on our native park ecosystem.
What is invasive?
This type of environmental nuisance can come in the form of discarded soda bottles, plastic bags, or other unwanted materials, which is why TTF regularly hosts volunteer activities to remove this material from our parks.
What is trash/litter?
This process is the never-ending movement of water in our environment, from the ground to the atmosphere and back again.
What is the water cycle?
The creek running through Tacony Creek Park ultimately drains into this larger body of water, where the people of Philadelphia get most of their drinking water.
TTF Places these markers around the neighborhood to remind people that dumping waste here pollutes our creek.
What are storm drain markers?
This activity, open to volunteers and community members of all ages, involves counting flying creatures as they use the habitat for nesting, feeding, mating, and/or as a migration checkpoint?
What is birding or bird watching?
This is the natural home for a plant or animal (or other organism), which contains the necessary conditions for that creature to survive.

These volunteer citizen scientists work with TTF to observe and record important information on the health of our creeks and streams.
What are Stream-Keepers?
This type of green stormwater infrastructure uses native plants to soak up extra water during times of heavy rain.
What is a rain garden?
This type of water flow can carry chemicals and hazardous materials into streams and is the #1 source of water pollution.
What is runoff?
On this year over a century ago, the land around Tacony Creek Park was acquired to protect the creek and established as a public park.
What is 1915?
TTF plants trees, shrubs, and grasses to build up these areas, which are located next to our streams, and provide shade and habitat for wildlife.
What are (riparian) buffers?
This type of container is used to collect runoff from roofing, and helps protect the streams during storms. Later, the collected water can be used to water your lawn or garden
