What does it mean to have respect in the classroom?
- Raising your hand to speak, Staying focused, following directions right away, doing your best, having a positive attitude
What does it mean/ look like to actively listen?
Eyes watching, ears listening, body language (sitting up, facing the speaker, eye contact)
What does teamwork mean?
Working collaboratively together with a positive attitude and giving everyone the chance to talk/ contribute.
What is a way to communicate effectively with your teacher?
Have a conversation, not an argument. If you don't agree with what your teacher is saying it is always best to say "Okay" and move on. Remember your teacher is not a teacher to get you in trouble, but to help you be successful when you leave Ridge.
When are you allowed to go to the bathroom with the bathroom pass?

- Attempt to do the task on your own first using all your resources, then raise your hand for help. (Have a question in mind)

Listening to them, agreeing or disagreeing (not arguing), body language
Why is it important to express your feelings?
Your teacher/ peers are not mind readers, we don't know how you are feeling unless you tell someone.

Why is it important to follow Ridge procedures (Respectful, Responsible, & safe)?
Everyone in the school is held to the same standard and everyone knows the common expectations. NO QUESTIONS.
What is a good way to contribute to group work?
Talk with your group, express your ideas, volunteer to write things down, agree or disagree, body language.
Why is it important for EVERYONE is a group to share their ideas?
How can you use body language to show you are listening?
Sitting up straight, head up, eyes on speaker, not fidgeting in desk, not passing notes, no side conversations.
When is a good time to clean your desk?

Compliments, actively listen, smile, ask them how their day is going, helping them when they are stuck

Someone being unkind/ not listening/ arguing. Overcome it by ignoring or tell a teacher (not tattling)
What should you do if you disagree with someone?
You can always have a conversation explaining your point of view, but that doesn't mean everyone has to agree.
No, Ms. S takes a lot of time to make the morning slides with everything you need to know for soft start. Make sure you look and do your job.
Why is it important to be prepared to learn for class/school?
Time is important, I come to school prepared to teach my lessons and if I wasn't there is a lot of time wasted. Everyone has a job at school and you have to do your job of learning while you are here.
What should you do if someone is not following the expectations?
Remind them of the expectations, ignore, report to a teacher (NOT TATTLE)
How can you resolve conflicts within a team without a teacher?
Talk it out, walk away from the situation, Ignore
What does "persistent" look/ feel like?
Showing you tried, asked a peer for help, looked back at materials to help you, and gave yourself a chance to figure it out on your own.
