What qualifies as on time?
Clocked in, dressed, on deck, and have all necessary equipment ready by the start of your shift.
What whistle signal do you use to activate the EAP?
Three whistle blasts
What age group requires an adult in the water with them at all times?
Ages 0-5 (or under 6).
No diving into water less than 9 feet.
What is included in a proper lifeguard uniform (clothing only, not equipment)?
Lifeguard shirt and dark shorts, or a lifeguard swimsuit.
When do you need to post your shifts to the tradeboard?
As soon as you learn you're going to miss a shift.
What type of flotation is approved for use in our pools?
A coast guard approved flotation device.
In what area of the pool do spinal injuries most commonly occur?
Shallow water
What equipment must be on your person at all times while actively guarding?
A rescue tube, whistle, hip pack, and a walkie.
What types of issues would be appropriate to text your supervisor overnight?
Emergencies
What color neckband is allowed in any area of the pool without restriction?
Green
After being kicked in the head by another swimmer, a person reports nausea, blurry vision, and a headache. What condition do you suspect?
Concussion
When four lifeguards are present, how many must be actively guarding the pools at all times?

Check the cleaning tasks list and decide who is going to cover which tasks.
When should you submit a punch change request for an incorrect or missing punch?
Immediately following the error
What is the severe weather (thunderstorm) protocol?
Clear the aquatics area and close for 30 minutes following the last thunder or lightning.
If you suspect a person has a spinal injury and they are not breathing, which condition do you prioritize?
Not breathing/providing ventilations
