Consists of gas, dust, and many stars including any objects orbiting the stars
What is galaxy?
Called gas giants because they are comprised mostly of gas.
What are the outer plants?
The condition of the atmosphere at a given time and place.
What is weather?
The turning of an object on its axis.
What is rotation?
An irregularly shaped rocky or metallic object that orbits the sun and is much smaller than a planet.
What is an asteroid?
How the mineral breaks apart along smooth surfaces.
What is cleavage?
How easily an mineral can be scratched.
What is hardness?
Measurements or observations collected or recorded in an investigation or experiment.
What is data?
The average pattern of weather in a certain location over many years.
What is climate?
The motion of one object around another.
What is revolution?
A specific type of investigation that has controlled variables and/or a control group.
What are experiments?
A belief that cannot be verified through measurements or data.
What is an opinion?
Anything that has mass and takes up space.
What is matter?
It takes the shape of the container and has a definite volume.
What is a liquid?
Explanation based on evidence that is NOT directly observed.
What is an inference?
The 4 phases of the moon in order.
What is New Moon, 1st Quarter Moon, Full Moon, and 3rd Quarter Moon?

What are latitude, elevation, and proximity to water?
Changes that result in other materials with different characteristics: rusting, decaying, burning and cooking.
What is chemical change?
Changes result when water expands in volume when freezing or when paper is torn.
What is physical change?
It takes the shape of the container and has no definite shape.

What is polar zone (cold, dry minimal precipitation, farthest from equator) temperate zone (moderate temps change with seasons) tropical zone (warm, can be wet, closest to equator)

Releases chemicals that break down food into small intestines and releases insulin to break down sugar.
What is the pancreas?

What is evaporation (liquid forming into gas-water vapor), condensation (gas forming back to liquid in the form of clouds), precipitation (a form of water-rain, snow, sleet, hail- that falls to the earth's surface)
