Sarah
Sarah at age ninety was told by a man of God that she would bear a son. The very thought made her to laugh: how could this be possible, she thought. Nine months later when the prediction was fulfilled, she named her son Isaac, meaning laughter! See Genesis 21:1-7 and Genesis 17:15-16.
He was a carpenter. She was highly favoured of the Lord. They had a virgin born son who was born in a stable. Christians believe that this son eventually became the saviour of the world.
Joseph and Mary.
Joseph was a carpenter (Matthew 13:55). When the angel Gabriel came to Mary to give her the news that she will have a son Jesus, he called her "highly favoured of the Lord" (Luke 1:28). Jesus was later born in a stable and placed in a manger (Luke 2:7). The angel announced to the shepherds that a Saviour was born (verses 10-11).

Rebekah
Rebekah loved her sons but she loved Jacob more than she did Esau. She wanted Jacob to have the blessing and so inherit his father's fortune, which was legally Esau's. The story is told in Genesis 27 of how she plotted and schemed to achieve her wish for her favorite son.
She was a young widow who returned with her mother-in-law to Bethlehem rather than her home country of Moab. He was her kinsman-redeemer. They had a son whose grandson became a great king.
Boaz and Ruth.
Ruth became a young widow (Ruth 1:4-5) and refused to go home to Moab because she wanted to go with Naomi (Ruth 1:15-19). There in Bethlehem she met and later married Boaz (Ruth 4:13). Their son Obed was the father of Jesse who was the father of David (Ruth 4:17).

Rachel
Genesis 29:17-20; 30:20-24 and 35:16-19 state that Rachel, Jacob's second wife was beautiful and that he loved her more than Leah his first wife. Leah was fruitful and gave Jacob many sons and one daughter. Rachel, on the other hand, was barren. Finally God answered Rachel's prayer and she gave birth to a son called Joseph. Jacob loved him to death and gave him a coat of many colors, as a token of his love.
She was one of the daughters of Aaron. He was a priest. He was struck dumb until the birth of their son because of his unbelief. Their son went on to prepare the way of the Lord.
Zacharias and Elisabeth.
Just before the story of the Saviour's birth is the story of Zacharias and Elisabeth in Luke 1. In verse 5 we find that Zacharias is a priest and Elisabeth was "of the daughters of Aaron". An angel appears to Zacharias to tell him he will have a son (verse 13) and then strikes Zacharias dumb because he didn't believe (verses 19-20).
When John (the Baptist) was born his father prophesied that he will prepare the way of the Lord (verse 76).

1 Kings 16:30-31 tells us Omri was evil in the eyes of the Lord, and worse than all before him. Ahab became king after his father's death. He married Jezebel, his only wife, and they served and worshipped Baal.
In an effort to save my life, my biological mother placed me in a basket and sent me sailing down the Nile. Along came a princess of Egypt, who drew me out of the water and adopted me. Do you know the names of these two women whom I called mother? One was a slave and the other a princess whose name is known only from tradition.
Jochebed and Bithiah
Pharaoh, king of Egypt, commanded the midwives to kill all Hebrew male babies. So Jochebed, the biological mother of Moses, sent him floating on the river, in the hope that someone would save him. As God would have it, the princess who rescued and adopted him was the daughter of the same king who made the decree to have him killed.
Some experts believe that the princess Bithiah mentioned in 1 Chronicles 4:18 is the same person mentioned in Exodus 2:1-10. Both mothers had a great influence on him: one raised him to be a king and the other taught him to be an advocate for the needy. With such exposure to the feelings of the rich and the poor, it isn't a wonder that God chose him to lead His children, the nation of Israel, out of bondage.
This couple sold some land, but kept part of the price for themselves. He laid the money at the apostles' feet and was struck dead for lying to God. She came in three hours later and was also struck dead for lying. Both were buried that day.
Ananias and Sapphira
In Acts 4:34-35 people who owned land or houses sold them and gave the full amount to the disciples to distribute to those in need. Ananias and Sapphira sold a possession, but decided to keep part of the price for themselves. When Ananias laid the money at the apostles' feet and when Sapphira later came to the apostles both were struck dead for lying to God (Acts 5:1-10).

Salome wished the best for her sons here on earth and in heaven. She once asked Jesus to allow her sons to sit, one at His right hand and the other at His left, in His kingdom (Matthew 20:21). Salome was one of the women who looked out for Jesus and remained faithful unto his death.
