Labcoats, googles, and nitrile gloves
Tornado warning has been called for your area, what do you do?
Get to a lower area, ground floor, indoor area with no access to windows, or underground. If outside, with no buildings (trailers do not count), find a ditch to lie down in and cover your head. Do not use underpasses as shelter.
Safety procedures in doing experiments.
What is lab safety? YOu should wear some thing to prevent rapid spread of fire or so. Explosions of chemicals can occur, not just fire or poisoning.
You are in a car accident.
You live in an apartment, but there is a tornado.
The same interaction, move to lower floors and avoid areas with windows. Most danger is the amount of debris like glass so wear shoes.
You are stuck in a car, how do you get out? (upsidedown)
Hold your seatbelt buckle to be able to push the button to release yourself.
A flash flood warning is called for your area.
On lower ground, move to higher ground. If trapped in an area, slow the advance of water by limiting water flow. Do not go into the water (humans are easily pushed by 2 feet)
You as a buyer brought a product, the driver is, supposed to off load it or you supervise.
I mean the idea is around supervision, you dont want the driver to offload gas chemicals into the wrong chemical chute causing a dangerous reaction of chlorine gas into the environment. Do not be vague
What is the response to severe bleeding?
Apply pressure to the wound, remove clothing area of the wound and change items that is applying pressure to the wound if drenched in blood. Attempt to 'stuff' the wound.
You live in an apartment and theres a flash flood warning.
Unless you fear a structural collapse, you should be safe staying at a higher floor.
You have a Kitchen Oil Fire in your pan. What is the way to put it out without an extinguisher?
Oil fires can not be put out using water, sand (lol), the pan cover by blocking off oxygen, do note these options may ruin the pan.
An earthquake happens.
Avoid tall buildings and attempt to get outside. If unable, cover your head under a sturdy object like a table, if all else, use your hands. After the earthquake, avoid rubble and wear shoes.
You called authorities to deal with a gas leak, but firemen seem to be acting slow while on the scene.
Self evacaute the area and wait a distance that is behind cover or 1 km away.
You find an unconcious person.
See if the person is breathing, if they are, put them in the 'rescue position' with ensures the airways can not be blocked from vomiting or so. IF person is not breathing or there is no heart beat, CPR you know / manual breathing.
You live in an apartment, and an earthquake happens.
Well theres the dangers of being up high, duck under a table and wait. Once the earthquake is over, get outside as aftershocks makes buildings dangerous.
You are indoors, and suspect an intruder somewhere with you.
Baricade a room and stay there, preferably with a weapon. You will know when the person attempts to enter. Confronting intruders usually means conflict, and risks safety. (if you need to confront, use a high degree of force)
A wildfire happens in unfavorable wind conditions.
Evacuate housing and leave water sources on (to slow the spread). If unable to leave, find a space that is preferably in water to go in. (wildfires are dangerous because of the extreme amount of heat, even 100 meters away its very hot)
As a mill manager, workers report unusual smoke coming from equipment.
Clear radio channels and turn off equipment. If smoke persists, attempt to release pressure from equipment and evacaute. (high pressure is confinement and dangerous)
Operation of CPR
CPR is to pump blood when oxygen isn't circulating. Hands should be locked over the chest and one should press hard. Limit yourself to breaks of 30 seconds, as continuous pressure and pushing is required until responders take over.
A gas leak is dangerous in an apartment, mostly due to multiple ignition sources. You should alert authorities and evacuate people immediately close to you. Can not risk ignition
You suspect a gas leak indoors. What is the appropriate response before alerting authorities?
Turn off the electricity, if unable alert authorities and follow advice. Big issue is that sparks can cause explosions and attempting to evacuate people is dangerous if improperly done.
A hurricane is forcasted into your direction.
Prepare, huge storms knock out supplies and it is generally advised to leave these areas. IF staying, prepare food, water, or such but you should leave especially in a low elevation area.
Crowd panicks and people are running into others.
To get out of the crowd, go perpendicular to the movement by moving your elbows into a bent shape. Pull up those that fall down and get out.
You are choking
You can not speak but, if 911 seems to be slow, there is other ways to alert community or people. You have a chance to self expell the item by falling on a chair into the under area of your rib. But you want to do this outside and do it repeatedly to draw attention while trying to solve the choking yourself.
I want to do something different with apartments, lets say fire
Evacuation of the building is needed, clear exits from the building and wait for response.
Extras to say, light switches create sparks and you should make sure they stay off. Near a dense cloud of gas, you should not attempt to create a spark.
