RJC: Describe the Black Panther Party.
Black Panther Party advocated for the self-determination and liberation of Black communities, often challenging police brutality and systemic oppression. The party is known for its armed patrols of Black neighborhoods and its "survival programs," like free breakfast for children.
Why was CYC created?
CYC was established to address the problems of juvenile delinquency and gang violence in San Francisco’s Chinatown by providing young men with alternatives and access to legitimate means to achieve their aspirations and independence.
