A large, bold title on a page or spread that introduces the main topic.
header
The tiny text on each page with the page number and section/topic.
folio
In charge of one part of the book (sports, student life, academics, etc.).
Section Editor
The book’s edge with the title and school year.
Spine
A photo or color goes all the way to the edge of the page
bleed
A smaller title just below the header that adds more detail or context.
subheader
Lines in a photo (like a road, hallway, or row of lockers) that guide the viewer’s eyes to the subject.
leading lines
Works on a specific part of the yearbook (like photography, writing, or design) and supports editors with assigned tasks.
Committee Member
The center fold where pages meet; don’t place important faces here.
gutter
Empty space that makes the page feel balanced.
whitespace
