The Matrix was a movie that was directed by the Wachowski sisters and follows a guy named Thomas as he gets duped into taking drugs by a guy named after the god of dreams. After waking up from the drugs he is taken aboard the Nebuchadnezzar, where it is reveled that A.I uses humans as batteries.
