Places at School
It has desks, a rug, and a Smart Board. You learn here every day.
What is the classroom?
You walk through here to get to other parts of the building.
What is the hallway?
This is something you use to write with. You have to sharpen it when it is dull.
What is a pencil?
It is dangerous to do this in the classroom, because you might fall or bump into something.
What is running?
This is a place that serves food. You come here during lunch and breakfast.
What is the cafeteria?
You come out here for recess, and there is a slide and a swing.
What is the playground?
You bring this to school every day on your back.
What is a backpack?
You cannot do this in the classroom, because it is loud and interrupts other people's learning.
What is yelling or shouting?
You need to tell the teacher before you leave the room to go to this place. Don't forget to wash your hands when you are done.
What is the bathroom?
If you feel sick or hurt, you can go to this place to have someone help you.
What are scissors?
You cannot do this in the hallway, because we don't want mice or bugs to come out at school.
What is eating food in the hallway?
You go here for P.E. There are basketball hoops, and you can run here.
What is the gym?
There is a large stage here, and you may attend town halls or graduation here.
What is the auditorium?
It is sticky and you can use it for arts and crafts.
What is glue?
You need to do this after you use the bathroom.
What is washing hands?
There are many books here. You can read, or the teacher or librarian might read a story with you.
What is the library?
This is a room students can not go into. Only teachers or staff may enter. Usually, there is a microwave and a fridge here. Sometimes, there is a vending machine.
What is the teacher's lounge?
You use this if you bring lunch from home.
What is a lunchbox?
You cannot do this in the hallway, because it would be dangerous if the floors are wet.
