You can call or text Kids Help Phone from a phone, or access us on the website, online messaging, or chat online.
Does Kids Help Phone tell anyone that you have called?

Why might someone feel angry?
(Any answer is correct!)
Is taking a walk and enjoying nature a way to care for yourself?
Yes!
How could you stand up for yourself if you are being bullied?
You can tell the bully that they are not being funny, and you don't like what they are doing. You can walk away when they come up to you. You can let a teacher/parent/adult know, and ask for help finding ways to stay safe when the bully is there. You can also let your friends know about the bullying, and try to spend more time with them and less time alone.
Why is it important to take a break from social media sometimes?
Social media can be a great way to connect, but it can also make us compare ourselves to others. People only put their best moments on social media, so it can seem like others' lives are better than ours. Taking a break can remind us of all the things we do have, the people who love us, and what is happening in the real world.
Connecting face to face is also more healthy for us mentally!
Does Kids Help Phone know who you are when you call?
Why is it important to talk about your feelings?
It helps you to think about what is going on, and feel better.
Name some ways someone might take care of themselves?
Talking to friends or safe adults, walking, listening to music, drawing, playing an instrument, learning something new, or putting down your phone for a bit.
Even taking a few minutes to see if there is something you can do to improve the situation can be self-care.
Why might someone bully someone?
Sometimes people who bully have a tough time elsewhere- at school, at home, etc. They might feel powerless, and want to feel powerful, so they bully to make themselves feel that way.
Also, although it is not officially bullying, sometimes people think they are funny or playing, but they are being hurtful. They may not know the other person doesn't like what they are doing.
Is it a good idea to meet up with someone you meet online?
It is not usually a good idea to meet up with someone you meet online. If you feel like it is someone that you really want to meet, make sure you meet in a safe place and go with a friend or adult. Make sure you don't go alone, and that people know where you are so you stay safe (even if the person you are meeting tells you not to tell, or to come alone).
How many calls does Kids Help Phone get a day?
About 470 each day!
What happens if you don't deal with your feelings?
Feelings can build up and add on to each other. When you don't deal with feelings they can come up later, and make your mental health worse. You can try to distract yourself and not feel them, but eventually you need to feel them to be able to feel better.
Will what one person does to take care of themselves work for everyone?
No, we are all unique and each need to find the things that feel good to us.
What can you do if someone is bullying a friend?
Tell someone, talk to your friend, help your friend find ways to enjoy themselves
Name one thing you can do to protect your privacy online
Only talk to people you know in person
Don't post your location, school, phone number, or what sports team you are on
When you post anything on your social media channels, or chat with anyone online/SnapChat/etc consider who can see it. Assume that your message/images will be seen by four different kinds of people:
If you don’t want one or more of these people to see it, it may be best not to post something. Even if you think something is private, nothing online really is.

What are some things you can do to help yourself feel better if you feel sad?
Call Kids Help Phone, talk to someone, take a walk, etc. (Lots of different answers are correct!)
When would someone practice self-care?
Any time! Self-care is always important, whether we are maintaining our positive mental health or helping our low mental health feel better.
Is it a good idea to confront a bully?
Not usually. You don't want to get hurt yourself, or have that person bully you too. It is better to tell an adult and get help. If your friend is bullying someone, though, you might want to talk to them, and let them know they are being hurtful and that it is not funny.
Why might you not want to talk to someone over text about an important issue?
It is hard to know how someone is feeling, or what they are thinking without being able to see their body language or hear their voice. Messages can be read in a different way, and the way we feel or are thinking can affect the way a message is read.
