Lesson 1: Jesus; The way, the truth, and the Life
The first sin committed by the first human beings.
What is Original Sin?
The title given to Jesus because he died and rose to save us from sin.
Who is the Savior?
The freedom to decide how to act.
What is free will?
The ability to know the difference between good and evil, right and wrong.
What is our Conscience?
The person seeking God's forgiveness in the Sacrament of Penance.
Who is Penitent?
The Three Divine Persons in One God: God the Father, God the Son and God the Holy Spirit.
What is the Blessed Trinity?
The reign of God over sin, suffering and death.
What is the Kingdom of God?
A thought word or action against God's Law.
What is Sin?
The act of reflecting on our choices and determining whether they showed love for God, others and ourselves.
What is Examination of Conscience?
God's Forgiveness of sins through the words of the priest. (this happens after reconciliation)
What is Absolution?
Those who said yes to Jesus' call to follow him (hint: 12)
Who are the Disciples?
An Important work that God calls a person to do.
What is their Mission?
DAILY DOUBLE - An attraction to choose to sin.
What is temptation?
The number of ways our Conscience works.
What is three (3) ways?
Before, While and After.
To turn away from sin and live the way God wants us to live.
What is to repent?
The Community of people who believe in God, are baptized and follow Jesus Christ.
What is the Church?
The Freedom that comes from loving and trusting God and respecting all people.
What is Peace?
A very serious sin that breaks a person's friendship with God.
What is Mortal Sin?
The person responsible for forming a good conscience.
Who is ourselves?
Forming a good conscience is our responsibility.
The restoring of friendship and peace.
What is reconciliation or confession?
The Day that the Holy Spirit came to the disciples.
What is Pentecost?
Teachings of Jesus that describe the way to live as his disciples.
What are the Beatitudes?
A less serious sin that hurts a person's friendship with God.
What is Venial Sin?
God's gift of an instinctive, inherent, or natural understanding of what is morally good and true. (we are all born with this because we are human beings created in God's image)
What is Natural Law?
You are born good!
Being sorry for our sins and firmly intending not to sin again.
What is Contrition?
