Take a break, walk around, take some deeps breaths, and start small.

Be open to the book, look for the prompts the teacher told me too, be engaged, choose to be fascinated!

I could ask the teacher to help remind me how to do todays assignment. Ask my friend what strategy they choose to do todays work and why.
You have been assigned a team project for GT. However, you don't like the people in your team and they don't like your ideas. What should you do?
Be a team player! Listen to their ideas and try to compromise. You won't always like everyone and all ideas but you do have to learn how to work together.
When I see someone distracted, rather than joining them, what should I do?
I could try showing them the strategy that I am using to finish my work.
Its independent reading time and I found the funniest picture. Should I show my friend right then?
No! Mark the page with a sticky note and then go back and show them during sharing time. Think about how that picture helps the story when you share.
What are the expectations in the hallway when walking to and from GT?
Walk with purpose, hands at your side or behind your back, voice level a zero, and head straight to your destination.
