Fasting means adults, 18-59, are limited to one full, meatless meal and 2 smaller meals that don't equal one full meal. Abstinence, required starting at this age, means abstaining from meat, required on Ash Wednesday, Good Friday and all the Fridays during Lent.

After His Resurrection, Jesus stayed 40 days teaching His disciples and preparing them to spread His teachings. Then miraculously and in front of His friends He did this.
